The African Women in Film and TV Empowerment Program (AWIFTEP) is a program supporting the development of African women entrepreneurs within the film and TV industry. AWIFTEP’s reach extends across Africa where promoting women’s economic empowerment is a principal priority. The program is designed to empower women in Film and TV who are making films for impact to fulfil their economic potential, creating conditions for sustainability and prosperity.
The program runs sessions with industry experts covering all relevant topics on Film for impact.
Some of AWIFTEP sessions include: Plenary Mentoring Sessions, Financial and funding opportunity sessions, Film project pitch learning sessions, Coaching session with a top Film and TV executives, Film and TV for Impact sessions with relevant organizations, Team bonding and networking.
Goals
To help African Women in Film and TV become key industry players through networking, capacity building, mentorship and access to funding.
To have African women in the forefront of connecting the African Media & Entertainment Industry to the world by presenting African creative potential to the global audience.
To build effective collaboration and partnerships within Africa and the rest of the world; sustain relationships amongst women in the TV and Film community in Africa.
